The Sri Lanka Optometric Association was established in 1961. Its education milestones include the first Diploma in Optometry in 1999, the ceremonial inauguration of the SLOA College of Optometry in 2010 and commencement of the Higher National Diploma in partnership with the Sri Lanka Foundation in 2011. COVS was officially launched on 21 January 2024 as SLOA’s educational arm.
